Server Alert User Guide
Installation
Server Alert is compatible with SQL Server Management Studio, part of the client
tools for SQL Server 2005.
To install run ServerAlert.msi and follow the on-screen instructions.
Setup
- Run SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
- Click Tools - Server Alert Setup.
- Click Add to add a new server to the list.
- Double click the server name column to edit the server name. Alternatively use the
dropdown list to select a server name.
- Change the alert colour by clicking on the colour block and choosing a colour in the picker.
- Repeat for other servers. When finished click OK.
Usage
Once servers have been setup the indicator bar will change colour. To check that
Server Alert is working click on the Object Explorer and the indicator should go
grey. Return to the query window and the indicator should change colour.
